Very recently, we visited Hawaii with my students to attend the PACIFICHEM 2010 meeting, which is an international conference of Chemistry. We enjoyed conference and many Hawaiian atmosphere during our stay in Hawaii, and we became great fun of Hawaii.
People in Japan are taking very busy time for the New Year Celebration. A Hawaiian friend, who was grown up in Japan before and spent 14 years in Japan, told me that the Cleaning of everything involving house at the end of year is very interest and impressed him. The meanings of the Cleaning at the end of year to exclude accumulated evils from our houses, families, societies, and etc., and we would like to prepare the clear fresh atmosphere for welcoming to Happiness in the coming New Year. You can enjoy many interesting Japanese Tradition at the end of Year and New Year Days in Japan.
